Barozzi Veiga (A+U 557)

The Barcelona-based office of Barozzi Veiga is the focus of this issue. The duo’s different backgrounds, along with the fact that they are both outsiders in Barcelona, characterises their architectural activities, while their ability to accomplish a range of international work without being bounded to a specific location feels quite modern. Their close observation and understanding of contexts and changing environments testifies to their creativity. Besides an interview with the architects and two critical analyses of their practice, the issue features more than twenty projects, such as the Philharmonic Hall in Szczecin, Music School in Brunico, and Ribera del Duero Wine Headquarters.
