An exploration of the architectural relationship to the inhabited and natural landscape. Charting a different path to the usual urban/rural design strategies, the research and teaching practice of Richard Black and Martin Hook has worked through alternative ways of reading the landscape as a generator for architectural projects. By investigating mapping, drawing, diagramming and photography they construct an alternative reading of place, making familiar places strange and strange places familiar.
